Underlayment is installed over the wood roof deck. First, two rows of Ice & Water shield, then 30# felt underlayment on the remainder of the roof.
Shingles are carefully placed in staggered rows and secured with a nail gun. The worker is wearing appropriate safety gear.

What you can expect during the
roof replacement process:
- Roofing materials and dumpster are
usually delivered the day before
- Morning arrival to begin protecting
the home and landscaping with tarps
- Removal of the old roofing
- Roof decking inspected and secured
- Flashing will be installed
- Drip edge will be installed around
the entier roof perimeter
- Underlayment is installed over the
roof deck
- Ice & Water shield
will be installed up the first 6 feet and surrounding all roof valleys
and
protrusions
- 30# felt underlayment will be
applied to the remainder of the roof decking
- GAF roofing shingles will be
installed
- Ridge vent installed if appropriate
- Soffit ventilation checked for
adequate air flow, new vents installed if needed
What you can expect at the end of the
roof replacement process:
- Roofing debris placed in dumpster
- Flower beds raked
- Gutters cleaned
- Lawn magnetically swept for nails
- Final walk around with homeowner
- The dumpster will be picked up as
soon as possible
What you can expect the day after the
installation is complete:
- A smile on your face when you look
at your new roof
